Its Saturday night here, and ive decided that i should finish an album that i meant to start when i was pregnant with Jack. Yes a pregnancy journal. Now i went and brought papers and embellishments and a 6x6 album and......yes thats as far as i got,,

So today i finished two pages for it,, So i thought i might up load them onto here as i go.. But i need to do the first page first, As ive started in the middle..lol..does anyone else do silly things like that.. I did two pages of ultrasounds..lol..i still have to do the front page, the finsding out, and other pages before the ultrasound photos. So ill start at the beginning and post as i go..

Now ive been busy with CHOOKSCRAPS this weekend. Its voting time on chookscraps survivor island!!!! After this weekends voting we will be down to five survivors. So go on over and take a look at the talent..its amazing.

Also been busy at EMM, with their CYBER CROP.. Now i have just finished my three layouts for this weekend,,yay!!

This first layout was to use a bad photo and some handcutting on the page.. Well i think the whole photography bit on this photo was wrong,,Too many shadows, off sentre, not looking at the camera and one child missing in the background..Hand cut flowers.

This layout had to have circles on it..so i made my circles into baubles,, for a xmas theme,.
My third layout is part of my pregnancy journal which ill share later..

I also did a xmas photo shoot with the kids this week and boy wasnt that fun..i wanted a nice peace shot..well yeah...here they are..

Hi aLL. iTS Monday morning here and i thought id get in early before Jack wakes up and do a post.. Not a lot to talk about.

Only my eldest son Michael,who turns 19 in December and is at uni, decided to go down to schoolies on Friday night. For those of you not in the know, schoolies is a large two week party on the gold coast for all school leavers, majority being year 12...Now of course with mobs of teenagers comes alcohol, drugs and of course sex. Now those young little innocent girls and boys can all look at the camera and say oh not me,no drugs, no alcohol and im still a virgin, Yes this last quip from a young girl on TV news last night..im wondering how many drinks she had had..lol..Any ways i tell my kids i was young once...dont tell me how careful you are,,because in the end its not always about you ..Now Michael went down this year as i wouldnt let him go last year. I told him i wanted his first drunken party to be in a safer environment, a small friends party perhaps, or at home. If its going to happen i dont want him far away on a beach, in a gutter and with complete starngers..lol..He ub=nderstood so no dramas last year..But this year off he and his mates went.with my blessing and many messages of be careful, ring me if anything happens, all the mum lines i could think of. He came home with a hang over as they spent the night at one of the night clubs.. Good for him!!Now 17 year old daughter who finished year 12 this year, new how i felt so hasnt even asked.. She just got herself a full time holiday job at Dreamworld. So im very proud of her. 15 year old son asks whether he can go when the time comes. And so begins the long speech about, drunken teenagers, men who prey on young kids, drug pushers and the sex which when drunk usually is not safe..Then there was the young kids killed on the sunshine coast, over the weekend,driving a V8. of course!!! No wonder these young kids are having accidents, they can barely drive, just given their p plates and they are put behind the wheel of a car with sooo much power..I had a V8 when i was 36 and i wanted to drive it fast too, cause i could, and how easy is it to loose control when you know what your doing. So needless to say second son will not be going to schoolies...This is where i as a parent put my foot down..And guess what it didnt hurt my first son and he turned out fine for not going...Its very hard being a parent to teenagers today..

Ok over my major ramblings some work to share..

Wasnt all that motivated this weekend..

This first layout is for my EDM, which i am totally way behind with, This was using the Michael Millar fabric in for keeps mag. I punched it into flowers.

This second Layout was for the CHOOKSCRAPS CC . It was to have remember in the title.Its of my dad way back in the 50s on stradbroke island, Not a lot on the island back then, and sooo cheap to buy land. But my dad thought who would live here?....lol.. Now try and buy land or housing there..lol. Oh and there is a journalling block there for i want to ask my mum about the photo and about the day and put it in in her words.

This third layout i had this photo of Jack having a very bad hair day....Was from a sketch over at chookscraps.

Well you think i could have done some more, but i spent too much time on this computer doing other stuff..lol.

.At chookscraps we are having a CC tonight and one of the clues was remembrance.. In honour of remebrance day just gone. So i thought i would share this layout of my dad i did some time last year. Its of my dad who served in the RAN and who died of cancer in 2004. A very proud man who fought for his country in Korea and Malaya. This layout contains letters he wrote to my mum whilst at sea during times of conflict. My dad was one of those men that didnt show affection as much as my mum would have loved, but these letters tell of a young man deeply in love with his wife.

First things first..

CHOOKSCRAPS survivor is down to the last ten survivors.aND ARNT THEY LOOKING TRIM TAUGHT AND TERRIFIC IN THEIR BIKINIS AND SARONGS ON OUR OWN CHOOK ISLAND ...

Congrats to all who have competed in this gruelling challenge,,Every fortnight being made to enter a layout that has been thought up by the DT at chookscraps..And what a mad bunch we are and the challenges have really seen the bar being lifted in way of outstanding scrapping..

Here is my sample layout for this weeks challenge:

Now this was a very quick layout using a prebrought: pre made page.. I just added a few things to make it my own and in under 15 minutes a page..I am slowly scrapping througfh last years xmas photos in readiness for this years photo festival..lol

Next: Embellished Idol

Well i didnt get into the final three but im soooo very proud of myself to have gotten into the final 9. Is this being vain?? Oh who really cares if im vain, im proud to have gotten this far..lol

This week six were voted off and i was one of them.. But the competition was sooooo much fun and i have some gorgeous layouts to add to my albums..So thanx embellished for heaps of fun!!!

And finally i spent some time at CRAFTING IN STYLE"S first cyber crop..

This first one was for a sketch challenge.

This second layout was to use four or more photos and it had to be related to something about firsts.Hence my first kiss caught on camera!

I brought some of the basic grey paper in the Romani line.

Now i thought it was gorgeous but had no idea what i was going to do with it as i first thought it was very girly, But i used it for Jacks layouts and i really loved it,, So used it all up on the weekend..lol

Well what a busy week!!!
I worked four days, had a halloween party Tuesday night, out to dinner thursday night, picked up son from weeks camp and scrapping all weekend yay!!.

Also got through to round seven on Embellish Idol..wow!!!! that was very exciting as i really didnt think i would get through. Now its a sketch challenge and im not feeling too motivated or insppired. Maybe im trying to hard? Here is my round six challenge layout..

Only managed two layouts though,,wasnt too well Friday night and went to bed early,,so here they are..
This first layout was a double page sketch layout which i really enjoyed!!

This second layout was a b/w challenge with one other colour,,Loved these photos i had..and for those who have asked me,, Yes the picture above my bed is of a very sexy males body holding a little kitty cat,, And yes my partner had a problem with it: but ... i had that picture before my I had Craig, so it stays above our bed!!! If Craig doesnt like it he can sleep on the lounge...lol

I also have some great photos of our halloween pasrty but you will have to wait till i scrap them...lol..Gee that could be a while as i still have last years to scrap...lol..was thinking though might scrasp a photo of Stephanie for Embellished idol, in her angel costume,,she looks gorgeous..

I have a couple of layouts i can share....
Had fun at the cc over at EMM last weekend

The challenge for this layout had too have photos older than ten years..These are photos of my dad and my mums sister and my nan on stradbroke island 1955.Also one of the grafton floods and one of their car..

tHIS LAYOUT WAS FOR a challenge to cut out embellishments from pattern paper. ie the flowers.
This layout is of my eldest son Michael playing in the backyard.

Well i also forgot to mention that over at CHOOKSCRAPS the survivor competition is starting to hot up.

Challenge three was too take inspiration from a picture, i made up my layout using the colours in the picture.These were taken from our trip love the byron bay lighhthouse.

We are now up to round six and im so proud to have made it this far. This round is very scary..lol..scrapping someone elses photo..cant wait to see everyones layouts tommorrow..

Woohoooo i won the overall weekend cyber crop at Embellished a few weeks ago. And also the layout of my girlfriend Kym and Jack won the challenge it was in. That was exciting..Have already spent my money and received my lovely box of goodies, Thanx Ali!!! Now Idol is into its fourth round and i dont think ill make it through as the competition is fantastic!!!!! But ive had fun and will still look at doing the challenges for myself..So pop over and have a look, you will see sooooo much talent its amazing!

Well have been working a bit lately so have been a bit tired. After 18 years of being a stay at home mum and then doing full time work..wow its tiring. But i have sooo loved the schools ive been getting. For those who dont know i finished uni last year, last exam three days after Jack was born, and got my teaching degree. So have been working relief work and loving most of it. Its an eyeopener working in some schools!!! This last week though i worked at Goodna special school and i LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!!! Give me those kids any day.It really makes you very humble and thankful for your perfect children..

Now i have a few layouts to share if blogger will let me..lol.

This layout was in a challenge and didint do so good but i really like the colours in it.

This second layout of Alex last xmas. yes im trying to use up last christmases photos, that i havnt scrapped yet: before this xmas and the whole photo thing happens again. Used a lot of bling with this one. Its a competition over at Scrapworld. Am in the next round for that one, so heres hoping i can get through this round..

I really didnt think i would as the last challenge i went out on a limb and did a layout that wasnt in my comfort zone at all and i wasnt happy with and it showed..lol..But i made it through and am able to redeem myself with this LAYOUT..

This weeks chellenge being minimalistic..I love this layout and hope it does well..

But im sure happy i made it this far!

Our trip to Coffs Harbour

Well im back and i needed to recuperate after my holiday...lol
I have learnt many things on this holiday journey..
1. Jackson does not sleep in the car for longer than 20/30 minutes..
2. Jackson does not like sitting in the carseat for any amount of time after his nap.
3. Jack has a very loud screech when he doesnt get what he wants, ie getting out of car seat.
4. Jack does not like sleeping anywhere but in his own home/room.
5. Craig becomes a bear when Jack whinges at night for longer than 10 minutes.
6. I can stay awake rocking a baby all night if need be.
7. Byron Bay has gone from the once sleepy village that i loved into a yuppie tourist fest.
8. I will not pay more than 6 dollars for a coffee. ie Byron Bay and the street cafes.
9. Even though this holiday was a surprise for me i still ended up buying lunch and dinner most days..it pays to keep silent about how much money you have brought to spend..lol
10. More than 15 minutes at the beach is long enough for a 15 month old who eats the sand and rubs his eyes with the sand..lol
11. My MIL was not the banshee from hell, but a lovely old mum who adored her new grandson, only grandson, from her only child.
12.I will not be driving anywhere longer than 40 minutes again this year..lol
Oh and last but not least.
13 doesnt matter how much sunscreen, long sleeves, hats, sunglasses, long pants and shady trees there are on a beach. In 30 minutes i will BURN!!!!!

Well have finally got DP to concede so that Jack may visit his nanny on his daddys side.. DP doesnt get on with his mum, but i feel that shouldnt stop Jack getting to know his nanny and making up his own mind.. So we are off this weekend to Coffs Harbour,, A beautiful place on this earth. And i cant wait as i get to go to all my fav hippy spots and shop..Loke Nimbin, Byron Bay and Mullimbimby..wooohooooo.cant wait!! Its the hippy in me that gets me so excited , honestly thinking of retiring down there..Sit back with my little acreage, chickens, cats and dogs and of course, DP if he wants to come.. Growing my own vegies and waiting for the grandkids to visit..not caring what i wear or what im looking like, no shoes, aghhhhhhh thats the life...lol

First one is for a challenge over at EMM. Using their monthly pack, which this month is chatterbox papers.. Love them!

This second layout is from a competition that "THE CRAFT ATTIC" is running. It was voted best last week , so im chuffed at that..

Well that all for now.. I need to finsh my DT work, and get a sample up for the chookscraps survivor, before we go tommorrow.

Oh and i got the most exciting news this morning...i won the sketch challenge over at embellished.. Now i have been so engrossed over their Idol that i hadnt even checked their boards for any other news.. Thanx embellished!!!

Nowi have done a layout for the Embellished Idol.. The first challenge was vintage. Now im not a vintage person, i may be old but that is another story. Vintage im not! And it took me days to get this one down on paper. So here is crossing my fingers and hoping its vintage enough to get me through the round.

So on to what ive been up too...Heaps done on the weekend..

Not only did i get two chookscraps challenges finished, i also completed the three challenges from over at the SCRAPPILE cc... First challenge was to scrap a male with journalling and facts..

The second was to fit as much as possible onto the page and still have a page that was eyecatching..You were awarded points for everything used..And i must say i really am pleased by this one.. But i am known to throw a lot on my pages any ways..lol

Had a great time at the CHOOKSCRAPS CC last night, even managed to do two layouts so far!!!

This first layout was a challenge to create a layout with the word sport in it, some cardstock and arrows.

This second challenge was all about yellow, flowers and stamping. Well yellow not a fav colour, and stamping...arghhhhhh. But here it is and i kindas like it!..lol

Now today im off over to srap pile to try some of their challenges. I participated last night in their bingo...so close yet so far...lol..Better luck with the challenges i hope...lol..

Well im not a girly type of person and pink has never been a favoutire of mine so these papers from SEI were a challenge, but my daughter loves pink so wee were both happy with these..

Lorraine, over at CHOOKSCRAPS, stocks a great range of SEI and got some especially for the EDM comp. I got the most gorgeous boy range from her...soooo yummy!!!! Will definately be using tha for my comp pages!!!

This was made from leftover paper from my DT pack. Also using the SEI iron on alphas.

Now as Brisbanites would know it rained on the weekend. And of all the weekends we have had: my sons army cadet unit went camping..Well i wouldnt have mind so much its just that it was out on dirt mushy roads. In my clean car!!!! So thankful i didnt get bogged.. And of course he enjoyed every moment of the wet weekend.. Like i have said before..Boys are strange creatures..camping in the cold, wet, finding their own food, windy, patrols and no sleep..oh and i forgot to take a picture..what was i thinking!!!!!!

Yes boys we have to love em even if we dont understand them..lol

Now i also made it to the CC at embellished this weekend and managed all three challenges.

This first challenge involved white cardstock and flowers and spring. Didnt mind being a bit artistic with this one...Only thing is I think i got carried away..lol..oh well....There was a sketch and a canvas will upload them later..

My mother came from an upper class english family. So i would say my great great grandmother on my mums side.. But my mums grandfather came from mining stock in england so would love to see how they lived in the 1800s being very poor.

Well guess what!!! My kids didnt evade the horrible bug that is going around.

15 years old son has been sick for two days now, so lets hope its just him.

Though step daughters are also sick in bed this week with it after visiting last weekend.

Also Alex reminds me last night that he has an army cadet camp this weekend that i have to pay for.. NO!!!!!!

I HAVNT BUDGETED FOR IT.

Thinking its like school camps, 60.00, perhaps 80.00 dollars. I reread the note, only 15.00.

now thats what i call a good price for a kids weekend activity.

And he also loves cadets..

Not like im sending him off to be tortured, in the rain, or getting heat stroke in summer, peeling potatoes, digging holes for the toilets and spending ice cold nights on patrol at all hours.

I sometimes wonder where boys get the ideas that that kinda thing is fun?

Oh but ask him to feed the cat or wash the dishes and its like i have asked for him to cut off his leg???

Who knows.

Boys they are funny little things: that grow into big annoying things...lol
